What is Sierra Art Trails?

Sierra Art Trails (SAT) is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to supporting artists and artisans, promoting art education, and benefiting our communities through cultural tourism.

The annual Sierra Art Trails – Yosemite Foothills Open Studio Tour takes place annually the first two weekends in October in Eastern Madera and Mariposa Counties . The three day event draws thousands of visitors to the Sierra Foothills every year.

The show features the work of artists and artisans working in a wide range of media, on display in homes, studios, and galleries throughout the area.

Sierra Art Trails gives visitors the chance to see fine art and fine crafts in the making, and to get a first hand view of how artists live and work. The show features artists and artisans working in a wide range of media including painting, photography, jewelry, sculpture, fiber arts, woodcarving, ceramics, and more!

In addition to presenting the annual Open Studio Tour, SAT raises funds for student sponsorships, scholarships, public art, school art programs, and other art related projects.

SAT also organizes workshops, demonstrations, lectures, and special exhibits for artists and the general public.

The Call to Artists for Sierra Art Trails opens in February each year. Check application dates HERE!
